Who is the judge in this competition? There are plenty of books that are wiser and more beneficial than the Quran, but when Islamic 'judges' assume it can't be beaten, then the 'competition' is a farce and the 'winner' is fake.

Countless repetitions of threats in the text are meant to instill the fear to obey not because Quran makes sense (though it doesn't) but because you are just scared.

These non-proofs are 'clear proofs' because Allah says so, but it doesn't make them proofs. They're just logical fallacies based on misleading mental reflexes.

Quran has inconsistencies. But even if there were none, it would only prove that it was written and vetted by an attentive author(s). It wouldn't imply the involvement of a god. There are plenty of other books without inconsistencies. Does it mean they came from a god? No. Same with Quran.

Even if Quran was the best book in the world, and even if its suras were unmatchable, it wouldn't prove that some god took part it in. It would only prove that it was written by the most talented human author(s).

Allah tells Muhammad to ask non-muslims this question and thinks that it somehow proves that Islam is true despite Muslims also can't bring compelling proof of such a stairway for them. Religion never was a good friend of logic.

Should have given better signs, to begin with. There is nothing evil in denying unsubstantiated claims a.k.a. Allah's signs. A much bigger evil is to give signs which don't mean anything, which are contrary to logic and scientific findings, and then punish people for not getting it. For example, a horse perceived as beautiful is not a 'sign' of Allah creating it. Evolution explains its structure and origin in a much much better, reliable, and traceable way. Also, when it rains it's not a sign of Allah taking care of us. It's the natural water cycle, and Allah is not needed to establish it. And so on.

The book tries to tell you that those who are skeptical about it are being blocked from understanding by Allah on purpose. It helps the believers ignore the points of view of the disbelieving faction so that the believers have fewer obstacles to lie to themselves about the divinity of their faith.
